In researching, I found Copper Chem is 85% sativa and 15% Indica hybrid and is a cross of Chem 4 and Stardawg. It is reported to carry indica effects more often even though it is a sativa dominate. Common use is to treat symptoms of chronic pain, depression, migraines and nausea. The sample is much more uniform in bud size and shape than non-prepackaged product I have reviewed before.
Structure is Christmas tree shaped, one inch marble sized nugget that is dark in color until it is ground, then becomes brighter. The copper hairs are present but not as defined as some pictures I found online. It has a smell very much like a fresh for tree. Its sweet smell is not as pungent as I would like, but I give it a rating as 7 out of 10. This was my first experience with a Bold prepackaged product. I was surprised that the jars are not vacuum sealed. The lid has a pad system that makes a good seal that is sufficient in short term, but these products are more likely to lose moisture over time than if it were sealed and air packed with nitrogen like in western states.
I rate it as a 6 out of 10 on hit/cure because although the trim of these buds is decent, the cure seems a little longer than needed for combustion but would work well with a dry herb vape. Because the buds are a slightly dry making a strong throat burn. I also deducted a point for the length of stem left by Bold. Because its prepacked, the dispensary can not trim the stems without changing the overall weight. It has a pleasant taste with floral and pine notes, but it is missing the strong fuel notes that my research says should be present. Personally it affected me with sativa like head buzz more than an over all body high. In research I found that most report a pain numbing body effect.
I have not gotten that result yet but it may take another bowl or two. Over all, I think Bold’s Copper Chem is a strain that will improve with each crop and is great buy at the current price that Suite 443 is running now. I had greater expectations that the overall 6.75 out of 10. I would purchase it again if the price was right. As a struggling patient, sometimes a good price lets you get double the weight of the product and that should almost get a rating column all on its own for the review. For the money, its a good buy.
