Type Hybrid THC: 17.8% CBD: .045%
Background: This sample was harvested on 11/25/19 and tested by Steep Hill at a THC level of 17.8% and CBD of .045%. As a rare 70% sativa dominate this strain is a Canna-Cup winner. Genetics are Cookies bred to Mandarin Sunset. Strains listed as multiple Phenoms may have been used to create the strain known for its high “calyx” to leaf ratio. I found that the calyx is the small leaves that protect the flower at is base. It acts almost like a cocoon, protecting the reproductive parts and trichomes or the resin glands that give the plant its punch. It is at the calyx where growers look to see nodules to sex the plants.
Review: This sample has mid sized nugs about the same shape as a marble. Its a unique shade of green with spots of deep eggplant purple tones. I rate the look as 8 out of 10. The smell is familiar to me, over ripe fruit like with notes of citrus and a nutty almost mocha coffee smell. The smell rates 9 out of 10. The cure on this sample is 9 out of 10. I don’t detect any machine trim abuse and when you squeeze the flower it rebounds back to its normal shape.
The taste isn’t distinct as one terpene or another but has a mild pine and berry flavor. It rates as 7 out of 10. Its not a bad taste, but just didn’t live up to expectation. I rolled and smoked a 0.6 gram micro dose. I found the effect is 8 out of 10. Its intoxication is subtle, mostly in the head behind my eyes. My focus was sharpened and I found the sativa head euphoria is included in this flower. Don’t let the 17% fool you. It wasn’t much if a pain reliever but I did find it to be a good mood elevator. I think it would be best used in the day and would work well to medicate mood disorders such as depression and anxiety in low dose and controlled environment. Not a go to for management of pain unless you just was a distraction. Over all it rates 8.2 out of 10
