AMCO’s Review of Purple Sunset by Natural State Medicinal and purchased at Little Rock House of Cannabis This Nitrogen packed metal can with safety lid is labeled 21.5% THC and 0.056 CBD. It was harvested on September 28th and tested by Steep Hill on October 16th. Online I found this strain’s genetics are Purple Punch x Mandarin Sunset x Sunset Sherbert. It’s listed as a 60% Indica dominate.
~ The look rates as 8 out of 10. This eighth of an ounce is made up of 6 dense emerald green nugs covered in bright orange pistils. The package’s QR code gives the info on the lab report, but doesn’t include the terp content.
~ The smell rates 9 out of 10. My nose find sweet red berry notes along with light skunky hints of Myrecene in the forefront. I’m noticing a smell like fruit or flowers starting to rot, probably from Limonene or Linalool.
~ The cure rates as 9 out of 10. The tricombs on this flower have only about 30% clear. The majority are clouded and probably 20% are amber colored. There are even some amber colored tricombs on the inside of the nugs. The RH level is good as it passed the squeeze test.
~ The taste rates 8 out of 10. The aroma follows the through in the flavor. The sour notes of citrus mixes with skunk and has a finishing taste of spice from Caryophyllene. I don’t know why but this strain gives me a sinus burn no matter which way I’m ingesting. I don’t know if others are having the same burning sensation. Please let me know.
~ The effect rates 7 out of 10. Although my nose and sinuses didn’t like this strain, my pain symptoms are well controlled by it. Muscle relaxation was achieved without a lot of mental intoxication. I didn’t get much stress relief or depression relief in this half gram sample. But for a daytime med, its nice. I followed it with a dab to get me thru the day.
